Hannah Lee’s is a one-of-a-kind tea house with specialties that include a gift shop with more than 100 custom made Victorian Vintage Hats, Jewelry, Purses, Shawls and Clothing. Almost all are created by Lady Margaret Puhn and Lady Janice Martinelli.
Hannah Lee’s is a excellent opportunity to step back in time for a unique experience in a Victorian Tea house built in 1887 with a complete sit down, three or four course meal and historical setting either in outside garden or interior Victorian surroundings.
Over the course of the last several years, Ladies Janice Martinelli and Margaret Puhn, who is also the executive chef of Hannah Lee’s Tea House and the historian of the National City Historical Society, have been busily preparing the archive room for the public. If they give a tour, the ladies dress up in their Victorian finery and also give tours of the Kimball House Museum across the street, built in 1868 by the founders of Rancho de la Nacion (National City).
A percentage of the proceeds, benefit the National City Historical Society. Hannah Lee’s is owned by Lady Janice Martinelli and Margaret Puhn although the National City Historical Society and the Jr. Victorian Club, they donate much of their time to educate and showcase National City’s rich historic heritage.
